Claims Specialist - Other Fiscal Services Hybrid Remote WA State

Job Overview The Claims Specialist ensures patient account and claim information contains comprehensive and accurate data to provide timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. Monitors daily electronic claims transmission to research and resolve system and clearinghouse claim rejections to maximize the number and percentage of patient bills processed without denials or errors. Ensures all claims are accurate and compliant with government rules and regulations, coordinates billing within registration, edits, and follow‑up, and works closely with insurance companies, government payers, hospital staff, physicians, patients and others to ensure timely billing and patient account resolution. Responsibilities Ensure patient account and claim data is accurate and complete. Monitor daily electronic claims transmission and investigate claim rejections. Maximize the number and percentage of patient bills processed without denials or errors. Maintain compliance with government regulations and payer requirements. Coordinate billing activities across registration, edits, and follow‑up functions. Communicate with insurance companies, government payers, hospital staff, physicians, patients, and other stakeholders to resolve billing issues. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare business setting; education in a related field accepted in lieu of experience. Minimum of 1 year experience using the EPIC platform. Minimum of 1 year successful customer service experience with patients and insurers. Pay Range Hourly pay of $21.55 to $33.53. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
