This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact across all patient populations while enjoying a supportive, collaborative work environment.We're excited to offer sign-on bonuses for qualified Respiratory Therapists who join our team:$15,000 for therapists with 0–1 year of experience with a 2-year full-time commitment$20,000 for therapists with 1+ years of experience with a 2-year full-time commitmentPlus, a limited-time incentive to earn an additional $10,000 upon completion of your third year of employment.Prorated sign-on bonuses are also available for part-time positions.As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in delivering life-saving care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Working under physician direction, you'll provide therapy, monitor patient progress, and operate advanced equipment to support respiratory health across all patient populations and service areas.Key responsibilities include:Assess patient needs by reviewing prescriptions, lab results, and clinical dataAdminister respiratory treatments and medications safely and effectivelySet up and operate ventilators, aerosol generators, and other respiratory devicesMonitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal therapy outcomesRespond to emergency situations and assist in transporting ventilated patientsPerform pulmonary function tests and bronchopulmonary drainageMaintain accurate patient records and documentationTrain and supervise students and new staffCollaborate with physicians to evaluate and adjust treatment plansWe're looking for a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team. To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:Education & Credentials:Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care programLicensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaCertified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), meeting AHA standards (must include both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration within 30 days of hire)Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)Note: Therapists who earned their RRT credential after July 1, 2002 must maintain active certification per NBRC requirementsLicensure & Clearances:CPR/BLS Certification (AHA-compliant)Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license or Osteopathic Respiratory Care licenseRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialAct 33 Clearance (with renewal)Act 34 Clearance (with renewal)Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
