ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch land and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond As the partner of choice for critical space missions Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24 hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing Headquartered in north Austin Texas Firefly is looking for passionate hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space SUMMARY The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the general ledger close process US GAAP financial reporting and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements This position requires a detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team The ideal candidate will bring good experience and work ethic to the table while being open to learning and adapting to changing priorities in fast paced environment Being familiar with a Sox Compliant environment is important for this position Key Responsibilities General Ledger Close Participate in and help lead the month end quarter end and year end close processes to meet internal and external financial reporting deadline requirements including preparing journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP Support additional internal financial reporting and compliance with external reporting requirements and related disclosures Internal Controls Compliance Ensure compliance with internal control over financial reporting requirements Assist in the documentation testing and remediation of internal controls over financial reporting Technical Accounting Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting issues ensuring proper application of accounting pronouncements and company policies Audit Support Prepare schedules and provide support for internal and external audits Ad hoc Analysis & Projects Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with other departments eg FP&A Operations Legal to ensure accurate financial information and support business needs Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required Experience in a publicly traded company a manufacturing company andor public accounting firm Big 4 or national firm preferred auditing public clients is highly desirable Preferred QualificationsMinimum Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience System Skills Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel pivot tables complex formulas and ERP systems eg NetSuite SAP Oracle Experience with close automation software like FloQast desirable Experience with T&E expense modules desirable Navan Concur etc CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is preferred Soft Skills Excellent analytical problem solving and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment Excellent written and spoken communication skills Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member High level of integrity and professionalism Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees including generous health dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles parental leave educational reimbursement short term disability and flexible PTO options To conform to US Government space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ITAR you must be a US citizen lawful permanent resident of the US protected individual as defined by 8 USC 1324ba3 or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the US Department of State Firefly Aerospace Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Firefly is governed based on merit competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race color religion gender national originethnicity veteran status disability status age sexual orientation gender identity marital status mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status #J-18808-Ljbffr Firefly Aerospace
