Registered Nurse - Clinical Float - Medical/Surgical

Role: The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care across various Medical Surgical units, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient care during hospitalization. Responsibilities: Conducts patient assessments, develops and evaluates care plans, administers medications, and collaborates with healthcare team members. Provides patient and family education, manages pain, monitors patient response, and ensures safety protocols including restraint and infection control practices. Communicates effectively, documents thoroughly, and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Offers specialized care to high-risk patients, promotes service excellence, and maintains professionalism and a respectful environment. Qualifications & Skills: Valid RN license in the applicable state, current BLS certification, and adherence to infection control and safety standards. Demonstrates technical competence, flexibility, strong communication, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach. Engages in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities. Key Duties: Performs assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions; educates patients and families; collaborates with the healthcare team; ensures safety and infection control; and contributes to department goals and quality metrics.
