SUMMARY
Our client, a San Diego law firm seeking an Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation / Insurance Defense. The attorney will handle meaningful aspects of cases, including case strategy, client communication, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. This is an opportunity to learn directly from experienced trial attorneys and develop hands-on courtroom experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- Prior civil litigation or insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Personal injury defense experience preferred
- Experience with depositions, discovery, motions, and trial preparation
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and desire to build a career as a litigator

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and actively participate in civil litigation matters
- Develop case strategy and analyze facts and legal issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties
- Assist with settlement negotiations, mediation, and trial preparation
- Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex matters
