Position Overview

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2–4 years of experience to join the West Coast Litigation practice of a leading national law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong academic background and meaningful complex litigation experience to work in a collegial environment with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

The ideal candidate will bring superior research, writing, and analytical skills, along with the ability to handle sophisticated litigation matters. Attorneys with judicial clerkship experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex litigation matters and support cases through various stages of litigation.

• Conduct sophisticated legal research and analysis.

• Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.

• Assist with case strategy, discovery, and other litigation proceedings.

• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop effective arguments.

• Collaborate with attorneys and clients in a collegial, team-oriented environment.

• Take on increasing responsibility and contribute to the continued growth of the litigation practice.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• 2–4 years of litigation experience.

• Significant experience with complex litigation.

• Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Strong academic background.

• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

• Admission to the Oregon Bar, or willingness to obtain admission, is required.
