Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care for Cardiac Imaging patients.

Job Functions

1. Assesses patient health problem needs and develops, implements and evaluates patient chart to prepare for upcoming procedural imaging.
2. Provides a comprehensive assessment of patient needs, identification of outcomes based on needs assessment, establishing the plan of care and the modification of the plan of care as needed.
3. Interacts with patients to welcome, explain and respond to questions and concerns during and following the procedure.
4. Provides nursing care.
5. Advises and educates patients, family members and significant others on health maintenance and disease prevention for the patients
6. Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
7. Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
8. Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate for the position.
9. Serves as a patient advocate in seeking appropriate community resources to meet patient needs.
10. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, other healthcare providers and colleagues to enhance own professional nursing practice.
11. Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area of CICU/Telemetry and Imaging Services cardiac experience.
12. Performs other first floor imaging nursing duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS certified
• ACLS certified
• Critical care nursing experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Demonstrates Critical Thinking skills
• Ability to work autonomously

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
