TOOLING TECHNICIAN

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr
Location: Vista, CA
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM
ABOUT THE ROLE
Manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Tooling Technician to join our Vista Tooling team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building, fabricating, repairing, and working with their hands . You will work in a composite shop environment creating and maintaining molds, fixtures, patterns, and tooling used in manufacturing.
The ideal candidate has experience with tooling, composites, fiberglass, hand tools, and working from drawings . Candidates from automotive, boat, or jet ski body shops may have highly transferable experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Build, fabricate, modify, repair, and maintain molds, fixtures, patterns, and tooling.
* Work with composite materials, fiberglass, epoxy, resin, and vinyl .
* Use hand tools and shop equipment to fabricate and finish tooling components.
* Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
* Build tooling to required dimensions, angles, and specifications.3D visuals
* Perform bodywork, shaping, sanding, and other hands-on fabrication tasks.
* Troubleshoot tooling issues and make necessary repairs or modifications.
* Support continuous improvement and day-to-day problem solving.
* Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and housekeeping.
* Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
* Work collaboratively with experienced tooling professionals and support team members as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
* High school diploma or GED. Must clear background
* Hands-on experience in tooling, fabrication, manufacturing, composites, bodywork, or similar environments .
* Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools.
* Ability to read and work from drawings and technical instructions.
* Ability to visualize and work with three-dimensional shapes and structures.
* Understanding of measurements, dimensional tolerances, layout, squareness, and angles.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to learn new tooling and fabrication techniques.
* Ability to obtain forklift certification.

PPE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Must be comfortable working in a composite shop environment.
* Must wear required PPE, including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respirator protection when working with resin and other materials.
* Must successfully pass respirator certification .
* Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
* Must be comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and performing hands-on work for extended periods.
* Must be able to work safely around composite materials, resin, epoxy, and related chemicals.
