Job Description Scrap Metal buyer to seek new suppliers for Nonferrous and Ferrous materials. Must have strong negotiation skills to negotiate pricing for the procurement and delivery of material. Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers. Develop new sources for industrial producers, dealers, and other businesses. Conduct cold calls Relationship building to expand the supplier base Inspect materials in the field and at plant. Verify metal grades, specifications and quality. Ensure all purchases meet company, environmental, and industry standards. Follow up and take care of supplier Follow company and regulatory policies on safety and environmental standards. Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and volumes with vendors to ensure profitability. Stay informed about global and domestic metal markets, forecast demands, chain disruptions, and regulatory changes affecting metals. Requirements Qualifications Experience in the Recycling and Scrap Metal industry, background in sales and procurement; or similar. Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Have an in depth understanding of metal types, grades, processing, and specifications.
