Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Medical-Surgical setting with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio across a 10-bed unit
• Manage and care for patients with complex diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Perform and oversee PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline line usage and maintenance, and tracheostomy patient care
• Titrate drips including Heparin; administer and monitor IV antibiotics and other set-rate infusions
• Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for patients on ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
• Float to ICU or Acute Rehabilitation units as needed based on staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with PEG tube care and feedings
• Proficiency with CVC, PICC, and Midline line care and usage
• Experience caring for tracheostomy patients
• Ability to titrate drips including Heparin

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (preferred but not required)
• Experience in an ICU or step-down setting with ability to float to ICU as needed
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and housewide tele pack systems
