Start Date: 07/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week (12-hour night shifts) Shift: 12-hour nights, 3x per week from 19:30 to 08:00 Employment Type: Travel Location: Upper Marlboro, Maryland Job Description The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide critical care to cardiac surgery patients. This role includes managing patients post‑operatively and during complex cardiovascular interventions, ensuring high standards of care in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Provide intensive care and monitoring for cardiac surgery patients undergoing procedures such as CABG and valve replacements. Administer medications and manage IV infusions as required. Perform necessary interventions such as arterial line management and central line care. Monitor and report changes in patient conditions, including EKG interpretations and dysrhythmias. Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and perform suctioning as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Required Experience, Certifications & Licensure Active MD RN license. ACLS and BLS certifications required. Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience. Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic. Previous charge or leadership experience preferred.
