Position Summary Registered Nurse 5600 M/S/ 5700 Obs Unit. The Registered Professional Staff Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for nursing care and outcomes for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care via the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the health team. Job Responsibilities Performs other duties aligned with the mission and values of the organization. Demonstrates personal accountability for professional practice and growth. Documents patient assessments, reassessments, progress toward goal achievement, and all required documentation accurately and timely. Promotes patient safety and quality, including adherence to National Patient Safety Goals. Communicates and collaborates effectively with healthcare team members and escalates situations appropriately. Establishes caring relationships with staff, patients, families, and other team members. Administers medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy, including blood administration. Prioritizes patient care delivery, uses critical thinking, coordinates and completes responsibilities independently or delegates appropriately. Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning using resources, considering readiness, barriers, and alternatives. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary for nursing care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age‑related criteria for patients in the assigned area. Minimum Qualifications Must be a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program, hold a Registered Nurse License in NYS, and have Basic Life Support Certification. Required Licenses Registered Nurse License – NYS Basic Life Support Certificate Preferred Qualifications 1 year recent Med/Surg clinical experience preferred. BLS required. ACLS required within 3 months. Qualified candidates must effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with New York state law on salary transparency. The salary range for this role is $102,063.00 – $132,063.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other compensation or benefits.
