Ecology and Organismal Biology - Part-Time Lecturer Pool The Department of Biological Science at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. Subject Areas General Biology (lecture or lab) Plant Biology (lecture or lab) Plant Ecology (lecture or lab) Biogeography Marine Ecology (lecture or lab) Desert Ecology (lecture or lab) Coastal Ecology (lecture or lab) Behavioral Ecology Mammalogy / Ornithology / Ichthyology / Herpetology (lecture or lab) Conservation Biology Part-time appointment, usually to teach credit-bearing biology courses in person at the lower-division level. Responsibility for a course will be vested in the lecturer, sometimes under the direct supervision of an appropriate faculty member. Teaching assignments may include multi-section coordinated courses, in which instructors must abide by all coordinated course policies. Responsibilities Providing classroom instruction. Preparing course materials and administering assignments to students. Administering examinations, grading student work and otherwise assessing student performance, and determining course grades. Holding scheduled office hours. Attending all weekly lab preparatory meetings. Participating in all class field trips, if applicable. Completing all necessary trainings. Attending lecturers meetings. Required Qualifications Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Botany, Ecology, Marine Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Prior teaching experience at the university level. Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide, culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Strong evidence of content knowledge in the subject areas listed above. Spoken and written English communication skills. Computer skills. Professional presentation and demeanor. Preferred Qualifications Significant teaching experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment. Relevant performance and professional experience. Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month (prorated to units worked). Typical starting compensation for a three-unit assignment is $6,608.40 – $7,465.20 per semester.
