All eligible employees are able to contribute on a pre-tax and/or post-tax basis and Alomere Health matches up to 6% of employee's contributions.Please see more details about our benefits here: Shifts, Rotating Weekends and HolidaysShifts:Day Shift: 5:30am-2:00pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pmEvening Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pmOvernight Shift: 10:30pm to 7:00amEvery Third Weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and Every Third Holiday: Overnight ShiftPosition ObjectiveThe Phlebotomist is responsible for accurately collecting specimens for medical provider ordered lab tests.Essential ResponsibilitiesInterpret and Process Lab OrdersInterpret, verify, and carry out medical provider ordered lab testsInterpret, reference, and apply laboratory specimen requirementsSpecimen CollectionObtain or collect body fluids, tissues, or other substances to aid the laboratory in determining normal and abnormal findingsObtain nasopharyngeal or nasal substancesProficient in capillary, venous, and arterial blood collectionPatient InteractionFoster an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients while explaining and performing proceduresProvide instructions clearly and accurately for patient collected specimensMaintain an environment of privacy, safety , and integrity for all patients, at all timesOther ResponsibilitiesPerform Urine Drug Screen collections and Breath Alcohol TestingPerform Point of Care testing as trained by facilityPerform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive mannerDemonstrate the ability to use relevant equipmentSupport, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and proceduresAbility to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the departmentFoster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or abilityRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent degreePreferred QualificationsPrior experience working in a health care facilityKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge in proper specimen collection; including specimen requirements, integrity of specimen, isolation procedures, timed blood draws, and aseptic techniqueStrong understanding of the importance of patient identification and correct specimen labelingAbility to have regular and anticipated attendanceStrong attention to detail and data entry skillsAbility to positively interact with others and provide exceptional customer serviceAbility to use required systems: Laboratory Information System and Electronic Medical RecordMature judgement and ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with professionalismExcellent oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with patients and employees on a daily basisUnion PositionNo #J-18808-Ljbffr Alomere Health
