Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse Practitioner / RN located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves working on a 29-bed post-acute rehab unit with a focus on neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, and complex medical patients. The position necessitates strong neuro skills and requires attendance at team conferences, with duties including patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week starting August 17, 2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; active BLS (AHA) certification; one year or more of relevant clinical experience; strong neuro skills; willingness to wait for license submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro patients, neurosurgery, multi-trauma, or complex medical cases; ability to read strips; familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Float: Float to LTAC or medical-surgical units may be required; float to high acuity units such as HAU is not permitted unless trained.
• Additional Information: The unit maintains a 5:1 day and 6:1 night nurse-to-patient ratio. Telemetry can be utilized but not monitored by RN staff; RN's are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab. Orientation includes 2 days in a classroom followed by 2-3 days with a preceptor, during which specialized documentation procedures will be learned. The unit emphasizes clinical expertise in neuro patient care.
