Responsibilities/Knowledge include but are not limited to:

Ability to follow sketches, work to specifications and instructions, and select most effective work sequence with a safety-first effort.

Seting up jigs, fixtures, bolts, clamps, blocks, tack welds or otherwise secures parts in proper alignment for welding.

Assists in the cleaning of the area to be welded with files, portable grinding wheels, deburring grinders, scaling or chipping.

Performs weldments using welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW in controlled areas. Weldments must undergo visual (VT), magnetic particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (LPT), and/or radiographic inspection (RT).

Operates arc welding equipment, oxyfuel cutting torch or other cutting methods to ensure alignment or fit.

Must be able to lift up to 60lbs infrequently, work in various physical conditions including standing, kneeling, stretching, crouching, prone, inverted, on various levels including platforms and ladders, and with excellent hand-eye coordination and acuity.

Understand safety precautions associated with welding.

This position is a Testing Designated Position. Candidates must pass and initial drug screening and are subject to random drug screenings during your employment with NFPC.
