Registered Nurse (RN), 12.5‑Hour Shift Location: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 Department: Burn Care Step Down Shift: Day (7 AM – 8 PM) Pay Range: $47.85 – $76.26 per hour Job Overview The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) is the only state‑certified burn treatment facility in New Jersey and one of the largest in North America. The center has 12 intensive‑care beds and an 18‑bed step‑down unit for less critically injured patients, providing expert care for patients of all ages. We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to care for our patients in their time of need. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Nursing. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills. Must be IV certified from an approved facility or complete IV certification requirements within 90 days of hire to the unit. Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Certifications and Licenses Required American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License. Scheduling Requirements Full‑Time, Day Shift, 7 AM – 8 PM, 37.5 hours per week, 12.5‑hour shift. Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotations. Essential Functions The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and incorporates evidence‑based practice by maintaining knowledge and experience and communicating with and utilizing available resources and programs. The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. The Registered Nurse has knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse supervises and directs delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse participates in patient teaching and discharge planning and in unit performance improvement evaluation activities. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, using the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
