Job Details: Job Description Utility Machine Operator – Full-Time – Portland, IN 47371 ATTN Team Members: This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Description: The starting pay for this position is $23.70/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility Machine Operator is responsible for filling in for vacation/absenteeism and must be able to perform all jobs and operate all machines in the department. RESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE Responsible for operating machinery, understanding specs of the product being ran, documenting both on paper and electronically machine setting, weights and other data as needed Must be able to assemble, disassemble and clean equipment when needed and communicate issues to lead and supervisor Keeps a legible accurate record as required including entering data as needed into a computer-based system Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable Must be able to operate a Power Industrial Truck Use and read scales and thermometers Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Team Member will flex/grip with wrists/hands Team Member will walk, bend, and stand Must have 3 months of operator or manufacturing experience listed in work history or skills section; must have 6 months of work history in 12 months to be considered. Must not have been terminated from previous employer for attendance or job abandonment.
