Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher specializing in serving high school students with Autism in an ESN (Extensive Support Needs) classroom setting. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, through June 4, 2027, offering the chance to empower and support exceptional learners in an inclusive, growth-focused environment. The position is located in West Covina, near Anaheim, CA.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist Instruction Credential (active and required)
- Prior experience with high school grades 9-12 preferred, particularly with Autism Spectrum Disorder and extensive support needs
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, families, and support staff
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students with significant learning needs
- Develop and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the IEP team
- Collaborate closely with staff and families to maximize student growth and independence
- Create and maintain organized, engaging classroom environments tailored to student strengths and needs
- Collect data and conduct assessments to inform instruction and report progress
- Provide behavioral, social, and emotional support aligned with best practices
