Growing together.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Job Responsibilities:Own and evolve a modern, cloud-native platform architecture that powers multiple lines of business, driving scalability, reliability, and seamless interoperability across the healthcare ecosystemDesign, develop and maintain Java and Golang based microservices, defining robust API contracts and driving reliable, scalable system interactionsBuild and integrate end-to-end solutions, ensuring seamless consumption of REST/GraphQL APIsDesign and deliver responsive, accessible, and high-quality user experiences using modern frameworks and well-defined design systemsEstablish and optimize front-end CI/CD practices, ensuring robust automation, quality gates, and secure, repeatable deploymentsDrive engineering excellence through strong testing practices (unit, integration, E2E) and adoption of static/dynamic analysis toolsLead technical collaboration across teams, working with UX, product, and architecture partners to influence roadmaps, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineersLeverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and enhance overall engineering productivity, while adhering to responsible AI practicesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:5+ years of fullstack software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on building and operating backend services in enterprise production environments3+ years of expertise in designing and developing microservices using Java/Spring Boot2+ years of experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and high-throughput services2+ years of experience in data-intensive applications using relational databases2+ years of experience in building, deploying, and operating cloud-native services with a strong focus on scalability, resiliency, and observability in production2+ years of experience in modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including pipeline design, automated testing, and deployment using tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform and Docker1+ years of solid front-end engineering experience (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar), with the ability to build responsive, accessible, and high-quality consumer-facing applications1+ years of experience with engineering best practices, including test-driven development and the use of static and dynamic code analysis tools (e.g., CodeQL, SonarQube, security scanners)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline2+ years of experience in cloud-native architecture using AWS core infrastructure2+ years of strong PostgreSQL expertise, including query optimization, and performance tuning1+ years of experience developing applications in GolangExperience leveraging AI tools and building AI-powered features and workflows to enhance business outcomesSoft Skills:Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a distributed, fast-moving, and agile environmentEffectively collaborate with product stakeholders and partners to deliver consumer-focused solutions*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment.
