ABOUT THIS POSITION:

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides leadership, consultation, assessment, and behavioral intervention services to support students with behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and adaptive skill needs. The BCBA collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based behavioral practices that improve student outcomes and increase access to inclusive educational environments.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Special Education

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Analyze behavioral and educational data to identify trends and inform decision-making.
• Recommend evidence-based interventions to address challenging behaviors and build replacement skills.
• Conduct observations and assessments across educational settings.
• Assist in the development and implementation of behavioral goals and objectives within Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, related service providers, and support staff.
• Collaborate with families to promote consistency between home and school settings.
• Participate in child study teams, problem-solving teams, and MTSS processes.
• Train and coach teachers, teaching assistants, aides, and related service providers in evidence-based behavioral practices.
• Model instructional and behavioral support strategies.
• Facilitate professional learning related to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), positive behavior supports, de-escalation techniques, and data collection procedures.
• Monitor implementation fidelity and provide feedback to staff.
• Design and maintain systems for data collection and reporting.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.
• Develop reports and summaries for educational teams, parents, and administrators.
• Utilize data to evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral interventions and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Knowledge of special education regulations and the IEP process.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Experience working in a public school setting.
• Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disabilities, and complex behavioral needs.
• Experience providing professional development and coaching.
• Training in crisis prevention and intervention.

SALARY/SALARY RANGE:

• Compensation is based on qualifications and experience in accordance with the Unit 1 contractual agreement and ranges from $59,499-$102,037 for the 2026-2027 school year.
• Teachers of color or those with experience and a deep background in Urban Education may qualify for the District's Urban Fellowship Program.
