Workers Compensation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a full-time Workers' Compensation Attorney based in Sacramento, CA. The attorney will manage and resolve workers' compensation cases, focusing on legal strategy, advocacy, and compliance within a structured case management system. Duties Evaluate new and existing workers' compensation cases for legal merit and strategy. Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings. Prepare and file legal pleadings, motions, and settlement documents. Conduct settlement negotiations and advocate for favorable outcomes. Provide legal guidance to Case Managers on assigned cases. Review complex matters requiring attorney-level decision-making. Perform legal research to support case strategy and compliance. Communicate with clients regarding legal strategy and case status. Maintain accurate documentation in the case management system. Ensure compliance with ethical, professional, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with leadership to improve legal workflows and efficiency. Requirements Strong legal analysis, strategic decision‑making, and professional judgment. Effective oral advocacy, legal drafting, negotiation, and settlement skills. Clear communication with clients, courts, and internal teams. Strong time‑management skills for managing a high‑volume caseload. Ability to work within established firm processes and protocols. Adaptable to changing priorities and procedures. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license to practice law in California and in good standing. Skills Knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and procedural rules. Experience with legal ethics and professional responsibility requirements. Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload.
