Job Type Part-Time Job Number 01021 Division Staff Closing Date Continuous Opening Date 09/02/2026 Academic Year Athletics (3611) Location 1 College Circle, Bangor, ME Department Athletics (3611) Description Seeking individuals with character, integrity, and the leadershipskills necessary to complement the Husson University SportsMedicine Team and the athletic department as a whole. The StaffAthletic Trainer will assist in the daily operations of the SportsMedicine Department as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer. Thisis a per diem position. Example of Duties Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, andrehabilitation of injuries, illness and medical issues of allstudent-athletes. Oversee the general health care of all student-athletes. Responsible for all medical referrals to team physicians,surgeons, physical therapists and the Husson University WellnessCenter. Provide medical coverage to athletic teams through dailypractice coverage. Athletic training facility coverage during hours ofoperation. Daily communication with coaching staff regarding injury statusof student-athletes. Computer medical record documentation. Administrative duties as assigned by the Head AthleticTrainer. Event coverage (home and away). Overnight travel will also be required. Function as a CAATE approved preceptor. Instruct and supervise students during clinicalexperience. Qualifications Education B.A. or B.S. degree required from a CAATE-approved AthleticTraining Education Program, Master's degree preferred NATA BOC certification Maine State license or eligible for Maine State license CPR certification Experience Minimum of one year working as a Certified Athletic Trainerpreferred, internships included. Knowledge of Athletic Training skills which will include butnot limited to: administrative skills, first aid, evaluation and assessment,rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities, as well asorganizational skills and excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills. Physical Demands The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, andability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job,you will be required to stand for long periods of time. You willalso be required to assist student-athletes from the field, liftcoolers, and have the ability to kneel and crouch to assiststudent-athletes.
