Job Description and Duties
SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / DISTRICT
“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).” The reporting location will be Fort Humboldt State Historical Park under the supervision of Museum Curator II. The North Coast Redwoods District Cultural Resource Management Program will be hiring Multiple Senior Park Aides (Seasonal) to assist with preservation and conservation programs, which include research, identification, cataloging, inventory and photographing historic objects and artifacts in the North Coast Redwood District collections. Duties may include travel throughout the District. Work well as an individual and in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Be flexible and open-minded. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Typical work activities may involve frequent periods of standing and walking and some lifting. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Working Conditions
This is a uniformed classification; uniform standards may be found in the Uniform Handbook. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as necessary. Prolonged standing, bending, and sitting. Work inside and outside; walking, bending, and lifting. Transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Frequent walking on even and uneven surfaces.
Special Requirements
