Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized neonatal nursing care for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients, ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based practice. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with healthcare team members to promote positive outcomes for critically ill newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive clinical care to neonates in the NICU, adhering to established protocols and standards.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, assigning duties to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient progress, document findings, and adjust interventions as needed to optimize health outcomes.
• Educate families about neonatal care, treatment options, and post-discharge instructions.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate care to ensure seamless transition from hospital to home.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Possess BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor per hospital policy.
• Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from an approved vendor.
• Have at least two years of recent clinical experience in a neonatal or critical care setting.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
