IT Project Manager - Contract Position

IT Project Manager

Contract Length: 12 months with the possibility of extending based on project need. Candidates should be local to Glen Allen, VA for onsite work.

Hybrid Schedule 4 days a week onsite, 1 day remote.

General Description: The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering information technology projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role partners with business and IT stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational strategy, governance standards, and operational needs.

Sourcing for an ERP [D365] application enhancement project. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead cross functional/department activities collaborating with all levels of the organization. The selected candidate will also coordinate third party vendor tasks too.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end management of IT projects including scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Adhere to and champion existing PMO methodologies and governance
• Drive adherence to project goals, scope, success measures/criteria, etc. Plan, monitor, and report project progress
• Create, maintain, and deliver critical project documentation
• Lead the documentation of current and future state business processes
• Lead business process improvement and issue resolution activities
• Facilitate project meetings and distribute meeting notes
• Provide accurate and timely project status reports
• Document and mitigate risks, issues, changes, and track action items
• Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for executive staff
• Report on project management KPIs
• Create and maintain project plans
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners
• Manage vendor delivery, statements of work, milestones, and invoice approvals
• Lead solution acceptance, go-live readiness, and transition to operations

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience 5 years of Project Management experience
• Experience with MS 365 (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Experience collaborating with third party vendors
• Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
• PMP, CAPM or Scrum Master certifications are a plus

Physical Demands:

Constantly required to sit and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (includes stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell. Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards. Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
