Independence Center in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking an Executive Director. The Moran Company is partnering with Independence Center to recruit for this role.

Independence Center is a community behavioral health organization committed to helping adults manage serious and persistent mental illness. It provides a comprehensive continuum of care integrating social rehabilitation, clinical therapy, outpatient psychiatric services, care coordination, supportive housing, and competitive employment programs. The organization is accredited by CARF and Clubhouse International and operates one of the largest Clubhouses worldwide.

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Independence Center, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, personnel management, community and network leadership, board governance, financial stewardship, quality and compliance, development and fundraising leadership.

Professional qualifications include a minimum of 10 years of executive or senior leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit social services organization, an advanced degree preferred in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, demonstrated success managing complex funding streams, strong financial and business acumen, experience leading multidisciplinary teams, and proven leadership in community networks.
