Registered Nurse (RN) - 13 Week Contract

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift: 3x12.0 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient based on nursing admission assessments and collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and commence patient teaching accordingly.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective decision-making and delegation.
• Contribute to unit functionality by providing calm direction and support to staff and families.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs, supplies, and training with management and senior nursing staff.
• Assume charge responsibility as directed and ensure patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritize activities effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
