Job Description

Schedule Options:

• Evenings: 3:00 pm 11:00 pm (2 positions)
• Nights: 11:00 pm 7:00 am (4 positions)
• Full-time, 40-hour workweeks; 3 out of 4 weekends per month
• Staff may be asked to float between units as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience, ideally in an inpatient or acute psychiatric setting
• Background in direct patient care, group homes, or customer service with a genuine interest in working with mental health populations
• Active pursuit of a psychology or mental health-related degree is considered a plus
• Demonstrated dependability and strong attendance record
• No requirement for LNA or CNA certification

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, safety-focused support for patients experiencing acute mental health symptoms
• Participate in a comprehensive four-week orientation, blending classroom learning, hands-on unit experience, and competency assessments
• Observe and practice de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, including completion of a Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training and associated physical competencies
• Collaborate closely with nursing and allied health staff while maintaining unit safety, adhering to all hospital infection prevention protocols, including fit testing for N95 respirators
• Follow assigned nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 4:24), delivering direct care and ensuring compliance with all organizational policies
