Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnering with a small, established family office to identify a hands-on Staff Accountant to join its accounting and operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a broad range of responsibilities, working in a close-knit environment, and having a direct impact on day-to-day operations. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily cash reconciliation, accounts payable, payroll processing, employee onboarding support, and various accounting and operational projects.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Controller, this individual will interact with staff, operators, vendors, and accounting leadership across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cash reconciliations across multiple locations, identifying, researching, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage the intake and processing of vendor invoices, including accurate coding and entry into QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop.
• Process vendor payments by check and ACH, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment deadlines.
• Process payroll through the company’s payroll system, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payment.
• Assist with new employee onboarding, including payroll setup and related administrative records.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records to support month-end close and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain documentation for business and accounting processes and systems within areas of responsibility.
• Partner with personnel, operators, vendors, the Operations Manager, and Controller to resolve accounting and operational issues.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Operations Manager and Controller.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or five (5) or more years of relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
• QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop experience is required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals across multiple locations and functions.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a small accounting team.
