PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Building and Volunteer Recruitment + Stewardship
- Establish, nurture, and/or maintain relationships with CPA’s, group homes, and DFCS local to assigned region(s) to secure referrals and ensure continuity of care.
- Execute regional recruitment strategies by representing Atlanta Angels at networking events, community gatherings, and advocacy forums to build a robust volunteer pipeline.
- Identify and collaborate with other local partners to provide resources to families and youth referred to Atlanta Angels.
- Lead volunteer stewardship initiatives for your region and caseload, including personalized outreach (handwritten notes), milestone celebrations, and community-building mixers.
General Program Coordination
- Complete intakes for new family and youth referrals.
- Conduct volunteer training for new volunteers (and support volunteer intakes/onboarding process, as needed).
- Work with the volunteer coordinator to identify the best match for family/youth and facilitate matching calls.
- Launch matches by conducting a strengths assessment + initial meetup between volunteer/mentor and family/youth.
- Provide ongoing support and coordination for match, including (but not limited to), training, coaching, and encouragement for volunteers; resources and advocacy for caregivers and youth; facilitating conversations and conflict management, etc.
- Attend meetups/visit with matches in-person, as applicable.
- Advocate for and/or fulfill emergent needs, enrichment requests, and other practical support.
- Serve as liaison between volunteer, foster family and placement agency.
- Respond to crisis calls and situations by staffing with supervisor and connecting with appropriate resources, as applicable.
Documentation and Admin
- Maintain accurate documentation and case notes for all matches, contacts, and communication in Apricot.
- Maintain updated program tracker detailing matchload.
- Collect and maintain updated compliance documentation (ie, background checks, driver’s license, foster care documentation, etc)
- Monitor and report on program outcomes, collecting monthly impact reports and achieving a 70% minimum completion rate on annual client surveys.
- Research and identify new and additional resources, programs, and support opportunities for families and youth, as needed.
- Communicate with matches regarding Atlanta Angels events and supplemental support opportunities.
- Submit receipts and documentation for any expenses on company credit card within one business day.
WORK CONTEXT:
Program Coordinators will maintain a caseload of up to 30 matches. This position requires a mixture of working in a traditional office setting and traveling to client homes, agency locations, needs assessments, trainings and/or outreach events. New hires will complete a minimum one-month training and on-boarding process.
Program Coordinators will be required to attend certain events including fundraising, community awareness initiatives, events for families, youth, and children, trainings and needs assessments over weekends or evenings periodically. Travel to family and youth homes within your assigned region will be required. A mileage stipend is provided.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A qualified candidate will be a highly skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills and abilities to quickly curate trust based connections (including foster families, foster youth, volunteers, mentors, corporate partners, and other Atlanta Angels supporters). This person will possess knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and psychological needs.
- Program Coordinators should demonstrate a spirit of inclusivity and acceptance of people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
- Ability to engage in discussions around sensitive topics including child abuse, neglect, trauma, mental health, poverty, substance abuse, trust-based relational intervention, rehabilitation, social adjustment, therapeutic needs, child demographics, match trajectory, family preservation and child relational concerns. Utilize these discussions to advocate and make decisions for the best interest of the client.
- A qualified candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A qualified candidate will have the ability to be teachable in the different skills the job requires.

EDUCATION + QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in social work, human services, or related field
- Bachelor's Degree and 1 + year of related experience
- Masters Degree and 6+ months of related experience
- A background in social work, case management, and/or foster care is preferred, but not required
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and TBRI is preferred, but not required
- Experience training and managing volunteers is preferred, but not required

Salary range for this role starting at $53,000 with opportunities for annual COLAs, spot bonuses with match load growth, and annual performance-based bonus.
