40-50 hours weekly; overnight travel as needed PAY $22-$30/hour; standard starting rate is $22/hour Build the field-service capability our customers can count on American Bath Group is expanding its in-house warranty field-service team. In this role, you will create dependable repair coverage across the Sacramento-Redding corridor by personally scheduling, traveling to, diagnosing, repairing, documenting, and closing assigned service work. This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, works well without daily onsite supervision, and can represent the company professionally in occupied homes, job sites, warehouses, and builder or plumbing environments. The mandate: Safely diagnose and repair ABG products right the first time, complete standard work within 14 days, reduce reliance on outside repair vendors, and leave customers confident in both the work and the service experience. What you will own Manage your territory. Receive centrally triaged warranty work, organize your schedule and route, and keep customers and internal partners informed. Diagnose accurately. Determine whether an issue is a manufacturing defect, an installation concern, or a repair scenario that requires escalation. Complete quality repairs. Use power tools, sanding, buffing, fillers, paints, and material-specific repair methods to restore products to a professional finish. Protect the customer environment. Prepare the work area, safeguard surrounding surfaces, work cleanly, explain the repair, and secure customer sign-off. Create visibility. Capture before-and-after photos, repair details, status updates, and complete closure documentation. Care for company resources. Manage the assigned vehicle, tools, repair materials, inventory, travel time, and follow-up with consistent discipline. What success looks like You will be trained and supported, but the goal is independent territory coverage within 30-60 days based on starting skill. Success is measured through safe execution, complete documentation, first-time workmanship, timely work-order completion, and the customer experience.

TIMING

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 30 days Use company tools and PPE safely; demonstrate basic sanding, buffing, repair, and finishing; handle email, photos, documentation, and customer interactions professionally. By 60 days Independently schedule and complete standard territory repairs; classify issues accurately; secure customer sign-off; maintain complete documentation. By 90 days Complete paint, finish, and structural repairs on installed units and handle a broader material and repair mix with limited support. By 6-12 months Operate the territory at planned capacity, close standard work within 14 days, avoid workmanship-related repeat repairs, and internalize most larger or higher-cost jobs. What you bring Hands-on repair aptitude. You can demonstrate practical craftsmanship, diagnosis, finish quality, and the ability to learn repair methods across materials. Independent field execution. You can manage your route, time, travel, inventory, communication, and follow-up without close daily direction. Customer-facing professionalism. You communicate clearly, maintain a professional appearance, protect occupied spaces, and follow through. Documentation discipline. You are comfortable using email, photos, work records, and customer sign-off to create a complete service history. Safety mindset. You work responsibly with power tools, chemicals, PPE, respirators, and company vehicles. Transferable backgrounds are welcome Direct bathware or manufacturing experience is not required. We are interested in demonstrated capability, not a fixed number of years in one industry. Relevant experience may come from: Fiberglass, acrylic, composite, or surface repair Automotive or marine paint and body work Refinishing, installed-product repair, plumbing, or warranty service Sanding, buffing, fillers, painting, structural repair, or comparable finish-sensitive work Mobile field service, route ownership, or independent customer-site work Requirements and work environment Driving eligibility. A valid, unrestricted driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for company-vehicle operation. Travel commitment. You must be able to cover the assigned territory, travel outside it when business needs require, and stay overnight as needed. Schedule. Expect approximately 40-50 hours per week. Drive and travel time are paid. Final schedule and overtime treatment will be reviewed during the hiring process. Physical and safety capability. With or without reasonable accommodation, you must be able to perform work involving lifting and carrying materials, kneeling, confined-area access, power-tool use, chemical handling, PPE, and respirator use when required. Practical validation. Candidates must complete a hands-on repair, tool-use, or workmanship assessment before final selection. Training and support California technicians begin with approximately two weeks of plant training in Moapa, Nevada, followed by field shadowing and support from experienced technicians. Travel, lodging, and meals associated with approved training and assigned work are covered by ABG. What ABG provides ABG provides a company truck, fuel card, phone, paid drive and travel time, approved travel, lodging and meal coverage, tools, PPE, repair supplies, job materials, structured plant training, field shadowing, and ongoing technical support. Compensation The stated hourly pay range for this role is $22.00-$30.00. The current standard starting rate is $22.00 per hour. Any placement above the standard starting rate is subject to relevant experience, internal review, and approval. This role is built for someone who... The technician personally performs the field repair work and independently manages the territory. Selection process Recruiter conversation. Finalize compensation, training travel, vehicle eligibility, and applicable safety requirements.
