Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients of all ages utilizing both standardized tools and observational methods.
• Formulate customized treatment strategies that align with both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing voice, fluency, language, and swallowing capabilities.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses, to devise effective care plans.
• Educate patients and families to facilitate progress and encourage practice beyond the therapy room.
• Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Remain diligent in maintaining accurate documentation that adheres to all applicable regulations and organizational standards.
• Stay abreast of developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and professional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
