Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software releases while ensuring reliable CI/CD processes, environment stability, and successful production deployments across cloud-based platforms.


Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage end-to-end software release and change management activities, ensuring successful deployment of applications across development, testing, and production environments.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and AWS services to support automated software delivery.
• Coordinate with Development, QA, Operations, Product Owners, and Infrastructure teams to plan, schedule, and execute releases while minimizing deployment risks.
• Manage cloud-based environments and containerized deployments across AWS platforms, including EKS, EC2, ALB, S3, CloudFront, and related services.
• Oversee change requests, release approvals, environment management, configuration management, and disaster recovery testing activities using ServiceNow and JIRA.
• Monitor deployment processes, troubleshoot release issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with Agile, DevOps, and operational best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 9-10+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Management, Change Management, Cloud Operations, and CI/CD automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, EC2, ALB, S3, CloudFront), Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Helm Charts, and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Proven expertise in Release Management, Change Management, ServiceNow, JIRA, environment management, disaster recovery testing, and coordinating enterprise-scale application deployments in Agile/DevOps environments.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
