Shipping ClerkThe Shipping Clerk plays a key role in supporting a high-volume manufacturing operation that produces advanced CNG fuel storage systems and tanks for trucks and large commercial vehicles. In this role, you ensure that materials, parts, and finished products are accurately received, stored, and shipped using ERP and carrier systems, while maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.ResponsibilitiesReceive incoming materials and accurately process all transactions in the ERP system.Pull parts and materials for production work orders and customer shipments according to established procedures.Package, crate, and label parts to prevent shipping damage and ensure safe transit.Create packing lists and all required shipping documentation for outgoing orders.Schedule carrier pickups with UPS, FedEx, and freight providers to meet shipping deadlines.Ship products and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including inventory movements.Maintain warehouse organization using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to manage stock rotation.Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts to keep inventory records accurate and up to date.Reconcile inventory discrepancies and resolve issues in coordination with relevant teams.Close production work orders in the system and send Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) as needed.Use RF scanners and ERP tools to perform order picking and inventory control tasks.Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials.Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment at all times.Support data entry and basic computer tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control.Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure on-time shipments and high accuracy.Work overtime as needed, including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays, to meet production and shipping demands.Essential SkillsPreferably 1.5+ years of experience in shipping operations within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.Experience and proficiency with inventory management and ERP systems for processing transactions.Ability to use RF scanners for picking, inventory updates, and cycle counts.Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping systems to create shipments and schedule pickups.Knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counting and reconciliation of discrepancies.Basic to intermediate computer skills for data entry and working in ERP and shipping platforms.Ability to maintain warehouse inventory accuracy and organization using FIFO methods.Comfort with mandatory overtime, including working 50–60 hours per week when required.Ability to work first shift hours starting as early as 5:00 a.m. to support overtime needs.Ability to work safely in a manufacturing warehouse environment and use steel-toed boots as required for safety.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control roles.Prior experience in a manufacturing or large warehouse setting with multiple machines and production lines.ERP experience preferred, including systems such as SAP or similar platforms.Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation to maintain accurate stock records.Familiarity with FedEx and UPS systems for labeling, tracking, and shipping management.Experience with order picking, labeling, and warehouse inventory processes.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, data entry, and inventory transactions.Ability to follow established procedures and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Reliable attendance and consistent performance, with the ability to meet expectations over time.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes full benefits, paid time off and vacation, and a 401(k) plan, supporting both financial security and work-life balance. Work is performed in a warehouse and production environment where advanced fuel systems and tanks are manufactured, with regular use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners. The role follows a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, typically 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with frequent early starts around 5:00 a.m. to support overtime. Overtime is mandatory when needed and may include 12-hour days and occasional Saturdays. Appropriate safety footwear, such as steel-toed boots, is required, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace is an essential part of the job.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Forest, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
