This position is a Limited Term position for 12 months which may be extended to 24 months or may become permanent.
The American with Disabilities Act Collaboration and Training Team organizes and directs departmental actions in response to the Armstrong vs. Brown and Clark vs. Brown class action litigation. The Unit assists the field with matters related to the Department's Disability Placement Program and Developmental Disability Program, development and implementation (including training) of policies and procedures related to class members, and assists with responding to inquiries, requests for information, and/or policy clarification from internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

- Knowledge of the Armstrong and Clark Remedial Plans in court ordered compliance requirements related to equal access to programs, services and activities for incarcerated persons with disabilities.
- Knowledge of the Disability Placement Program (DPP) and the Developmental Disability Program (DDP) codes.
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting institutional reports and databases including but not limited to SOMS and ERMS to identify compliance issues, housing restrictions, placement discrepancies and accommodation related concerns.
- Ability to identify trends or areas of non-compliance.
- Experience conducting case reviews, compliance monitoring and or audits involving classification, housing accommodation, 602-1/1824's or institutional operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with institution leadership, custody staff, ADA coordinators, headquarters staff and incarcerated persons.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports, findings, summaries and documentation for management review and compliance monitoring purposes.
- Ability to interpret and apply departmental policies, operational procedures and legal mandates consistently and accurately.
- Ability to work independently prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage sensitive confidential information.
- Experience conducting compliance/audit reviews
