Inspector II

Overview AECOM seeks an experienced Construction Inspector in our Baltimore office for infrastructure projects across the Baltimore metro area. Typical assignments include water and wastewater projects, erosion and sediment control inspection, stormwater facilities inspection, and related work. Responsibilities Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements by performing inspection duties. Participate in pre-construction meetings, punch list preparation, testing, and commissioning. Plan and accomplish goals using independent judgment and extensive field experience. Set and manage own project deadlines; provide on-the-job training to new employees. Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records; track quality assurance progress. Contribute to documentation for area and equipment turnovers; prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic documentation and corrective-action recommendations. Travel frequently to field locations; locations and distances vary. Work outdoors in various weather conditions and across terrains such as mud, rock, grass, and dirt, including uneven surfaces, heat, cold, dust, and noise. Conduct thorough inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure; verify compliance with environmental regulations and permits related to wastewater management. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issues and ensure project success. Stay current with industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices in wastewater construction and inspection techniques. Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning; contribute to ongoing quality assurance progress and turnovers. Qualifications Experience as a Construction Inspector with a focus on infrastructure projects, particularly water and wastewater systems. Ability to conduct thorough field inspections, document findings, and communicate recommendations clearly. Knowledge of environmental regulations and permits related to wastewater management is preferred. Strong collaboration skills to work with project managers, engineers, and contractors. Willingness and ability to travel frequently to field locations and perform outdoor work in diverse conditions.
