Automotive Service ManagerWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Service Manager to join our Service team.Toyota of Greensboro in beautiful Greensboro, NC is the 1st Toyota Dealership ever established in the Southeastern United States in 1965. We are on the hunt for energetic candidates that have excelled in a fast paced environment.Runs an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Either the Service Manager or Service Lane Manager should be on the property Mon thru Friday 7am to 7pm and Sat 7am to 6pm. In the event of training or vacations the schedule should be adjusted for coverage.Responsibilities:Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet themHires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all service department staffPrepares and administers an annual operating budget for the service departmentMaintains reporting systems required by general management and the factoryAttends managers meetingsMonitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveysStrives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departmentsDevelops and implements a marketing plan which promotes new and repeat businessUnderstands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etcUnderstands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy proceduresAccounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing and all are processed correctlyHolds weekly department meetingsDirects and schedules the activities of all department employeesFacilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as neededMonitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll recordsMonitors and follows up on parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availabilityInitials all repair orders before submitting them to the warranty department, monitoring for sales and hours relative to expectationsEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral businessInforms repair technicians of time allowances on each repair orderMaintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and qualityKeeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchasesEnsures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept cleanEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activitiesServes as liaison with factory representativesEnsures the proper care, storage, and inventory of special toolsEnsures that customers' service files are up-to-date and readily available for referenceEnsures that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenancePrepares pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operationsHandles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelinesEstablishes and maintains 24-hour follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experienceMaintains safe work environmentMaintains a professional appearanceRequirements:Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceOrganized and friendly personalityDealership experience is preferredKnowledge of dealership drive laneDemonstrated ability to manage othersValid in-state driver's license and automobile insuranceClean driving recordApplicants must be at least 21 years of age due to company’s liability insurance requirementsAll applicants must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks and pre-employment drug test.
