About the Role 

Immunology Consultants Laboratory, Inc. (ICL) is looking for an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our production team and ensure projects are appropriately planned, staffed, supplied, tracked, and completed on time and to ICL’s quality standards. 

This is a hands-on production leadership role for someone who enjoys bringing people, processes, materials, and priorities together. You do not need to be a technical or scientific expert on day one. What matters is that you are curious, willing to learn, and motivated to develop a strong understanding of ICL’s products and production processes. 

What You’ll Do 

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of production technicians, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and attendance management. 
• Plan, prioritize, and schedule production activities based on demand forecasts, capacity, resources, materials, and business priorities. 
• Assign projects and work effectively based on employee competency, workload, equipment, materials, and production requirements. 
• Monitor production and project progress, identify bottlenecks, maintain production metrics, and ensure customer and business commitments are delivered. 
• Coordinate materials and inventory, forecast material requirements, and ensure equipment and supplies are available to support production. 
• Coordinate equipment availability and maintenance and work with external vendors, including Capralogics and Pacific Immunology. 
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and serve as the primary operational liaison among Production, Sales, Logistics, Operations, Quality, and R&D. 
• Coordinate technical training, identify competency gaps, and ensure employees receive the training needed to perform their responsibilities effectively. 
• Develop a strong working knowledge of ICL’s products, processes, equipment, and technical requirements and progressively apply that knowledge to production decisions. 
• Maintain high standards of quality, documentation, and procedural compliance. 
• Use production data and metrics to identify problems, determine root causes, and drive improvements in efficiency, capacity, workflow, and team performance. 
• Support customer audits, USDA inspections, and other regulatory activities. 
• Know when to draw on technical and R&D expertise while developing increasing technical independence. 

What We’re Looking For 

We are looking for someone who brings strong leadership and operational experience and has the ambition to become a technically knowledgeable leader within ICL. 

Required / Core Qualifications 

• 2 – 3 + years of demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a team. 
• Experience in production, operations, laboratory operations, manufacturing, project coordination, or a related environment. 
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to work with data, identify trends, investigate problems, and focus on root causes. 
• Ability to read, understand, analyze, and communicate quality-system documents, procedures, technical information, and regulatory or compliance-related materials. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable tools and comfort working with spreadsheets, process documentation, and tracking systems. 
• Ability to work on-site at ICL in Portland, Oregon.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific, technical, business, operations, or related field. 
• Experience in a quality-focused, regulated, laboratory, manufacturing, or life-science environment. 
• Experience working with controlled documents, process maps, audit records, or quality-system tracking tools. 
• Experience with production planning, capacity management, inventory, or materials coordination.
