With many more exciting projects on the horizon our team could use your curiosity, passion, talent and experience to help us Build Above.We currently have an opportunity for aSenior Systems Engineer to join our Systems and Test Engineering team in Goleta, CA. In this role you will work on a variety of program tasks ranging from Requirements and Verification Management, Test Campaign Planning, Solar Array Power Management and Analysis, and Specialty Engineering (M&P, Reliability, Radiation, EEE parts, and more) roles. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes for a variety of industry and government customers.ResponsibilitiesAct as the Lead S&T Engineer on a project team for satellite subsystems and componentsPerform Requirements and Verification Management, including customer collaboration, requirements decomposition and flowdownCreate and maintain verification matrices (Requirements Verification Compliance Matrices)Lead technical content and present at Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)Communicate decomposed requirements to team functional roles (Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Quality, etc)Develop program-level verification plans and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teamsDevelop solar array subassembly acceptance and qualification test plans based on requirements verification strategies and Acceptance Campaign scopeManage Systems Engineering documentation including Specs, SOWs, SDRLs, Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test ReportsSupport hardware integration and testing across all levels of assembly (component, EDU, Qual, and Flight)Evaluate test data, assess compliance, and generate verification reportsServe as technical point of contact for external / offsite test facilitiesPerform EEE component selection, derating, lifetime, and failure analysisConduct reliability, FMECA, lifecycle, and PMPL analysesPerform radiation analysis and coordinate radiation test activitiesPrepare technical review packages and present results to management and customersCollaborate with Program Management on risk, schedule, and verification statusIdeal ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ yearsStrong foundation in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or systems engineeringAbility to work independently and apply engineering principles with minimal oversightU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Visa sponsorship not available)Desired SkillsExperience working on spacecraft hardware or spaceflight systemsExperience developing, managing, and decomposing requirements and verification methodsExperience creating test plans and leading hardware test campaignsFamiliarity with requirements management tools (JAMA, DOORS)Basic proficiency in CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, ProE)Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis toolsExperience with electrical test support equipment and instrumentationKnowledge of space hardware materials, processes, and qualification pathwaysExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGrow with us as we innovate the next generation capabilities for a new era of space exploration! We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position.
