Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs the necessary duties for machine maintenance and troubleshooting electrical systems. Specific duties include following all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures, participating in developing and updating risk assessments, installing fixtures, motors, and other electrical equipment, troubleshooting machine controls, motors, equipment, and associated wiring, repairing lighting and power circuitry, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, inventorying and ordering electrical material for shop stock, ordering proper materials for job completion, tagging out and lockout procedures, completing required records for work performed, performing planned maintenance inspections, maintaining equipment to ensure maximum reliability, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment failures and repairing all process and plant equipment.

Qualifications include a minimum of four years experience in electrical maintenance/installation, ability to read electrical schematics, a valid driver's license, high school diploma or GED with technical or trade courses, knowledge of state and local electrical codes, knowledge of hydraulic systems a plus, basic mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand and shop tools, proven mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills, ability to lift 50 pounds, mechanical experience in either manufacturing or related areas, demonstrated commitment to safety and quality, and steam boiler operation experience, desirable.

Personal protective equipment includes safety glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher, safety shoes conforming to ASTM F2413-05 PT Class 75 Protective Toe, electrically insulated gloves for general protection, ear protection (Noise Reduction Rating 33 dB), and flame resistant clothing when working around high voltage.
