Veterinary Medical Director

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a collaborative, engaged, and passionate veterinary leader to join our team as Medical Director . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to lead a dynamic group of emergency and specialty veterinarians while shaping a positive, high-performing hospital culture.

About the Role

The Medical Director partners closely with hospital leadership to foster a strong sense of community, elevate medical quality, and support a thriving, clinician-driven environment. This role blends clinical leadership with strategic influence, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both patient care and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and advance medical quality standards, including patient care & safety and client & referring veterinarian satisfaction

• Support hospital-wide quality and operational initiatives

• Foster a collaborative, clinician-led culture and learning environment

• Lead clinician recruiting, engagement, and retention efforts

• Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through practice visits, Continuing Education (CE) presentations and case consultations

About You

We’re looking for a veterinarian who is:

• Experienced, self-motivated, and team-oriented

• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

• Passionate about mentorship, collaboration, and clinical excellence

• Comfortable engaging with both internal teams and external partners

About the Hospital

Our Richmond hospital is a 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility , featuring:

• Advanced imaging: 64-slice CT and on-site MRI

• Full surgical capabilities including orthopedic, laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, and arthroscopic procedures

• Comprehensive internal medicine services with endoscopy, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostics
