Job Description:

This role involves providing care for patients who require intermediate care and for downgraded CVICU patients. The unit supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart cases. Nurses in this role are expected to titrate drips and manage complex cardiac and vascular cases.

Responsibilities:

• Care for patients requiring intermediate and downgraded CVICU care
• Support thoracic, EP, cath lab, and structural heart programs
• Titrate medications such as Amiodarone, Nitro, Nicardipine, and others
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Collaborate with a 24/7 in-house hospitalist and intensivist team
• Float to all same level and lower levels of acuity as needed

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience with the specified patient population
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
• License to submit necessary
• Radius Rule: Must be outside 50 miles; exclusion from working part-time, full-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Compliance with fingernail policy (no artificial nails)
• Pass an open-book skills exam with at least a 90% score during orientation
