Overview Senior Fire Investigator at EFI Global, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT. The primary purpose of this role is to investigate fire events to determine origin, cause, and responsibility in accordance with assignments from clients or assigned legal counsel. Responsibilities Accepts assignments from customers for investigation of losses or claims and conducts investigations aligned with the specific needs of the assignment. Determine the origin and cause of the loss/claim under investigation and identify any potential third‑party responsibility for subrogation potential. Maintain required reporting commitments to the client in accordance with EFI's standard procedures. Promote and market EFI services within the insurance industry and the assigned territory. Serve as a liaison between the insurance industry and law enforcement/fire service personnel. Investigate losses/claims with illegal, fraudulent, or subrogation aspects in accordance with assignment from client or assigned attorney representing the insurer. Identify and interview witnesses or involved persons who may possess information pertinent to the incident under investigation. Develop knowledge and expertise to conduct thorough inspection of public records including land deeds, mortgages, liens, suits, judgments, etc. Maintain up‑to‑date information regarding applicable laws pertaining to privacy rights and public records to ensure investigations are conducted legally and ethically. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Travels as required. Qualifications Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Must meet minimum certification requirement: Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI). IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI‑CFI) certification is preferred. Will be required to obtain the IAAI‑CFI certification within 6 months of employment. Experience Three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
