We have recently expanded our capabilities as a single source supplier by adding a Mechanical Services Division as well as becoming a Misc. Steel manufacturer. These new services will reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors. Our focus will be to enhance the services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide. AES has 4 different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce their freight cost and shipment lead times.Job DescriptionAs a CAD Designer (I), you will be responsible for designing and producing drawings for metal fabrication components within the HVAC industry. Your role will include ensuring product specifications are met, conducting customer verification approvals, and managing the product database. You will illustrate drawings based on product literature, architectural plans, and verbal instructions. Additionally, you will contribute to optimizing company operations for cost efficiency while ensuring quality, safety standards, and timely customer deliveries.Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:Create and maintain product documentation and bills of material.Collaborate directly with sales staff and customers to develop drawings from sketches, blueprints, existing drawings, and photos, along with written and verbal instructions.Work closely with all departments within the plant to guarantee that drawings are accurate, convey the correct information, and are free from errors. Update drawings as needed to facilitate continuous production and prevent delays.Utilize drafting resources to create new tools that enhance efficiency, including hardware and software design.Produce drawings based on customer, company, and vendor specifications, adhering to corporate drawing standards.Undertake additional related duties as assigned.QualificationsAssociate's degree in drafting design or equivalent experience required; 1 to 3 years of drafting experience preferred.Requires at least 1-3 years related experienceExperience with analytical and CAD software including SolidWorks preferredRequires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and modelsHVAC industry experience preferredExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skillsSkills:Proficiency in drafting and design, particularly with sheet metal products.Ability to interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and architectural drawings.Strong computer skills, including SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and email.MRP experience is preferred.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.Mechanical and technical expertise.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Abilities:Ability to follow directions and maintain a focus on results while ensuring attention to detail.Willingness to learn and adapt.Strong organizational skillsCompensationThis is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). The starting salary range for this role and market is between $57,000 - $74,500 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
