Community Manager

Build, grow, moderate, and maintain Toast's organic social and community presence for its consumer brand Establish and grow consumer presence across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels Plan, create, and publish social-first content celebrating local restaurants and driving Toast Local awareness, engagement, and repeat usage Develop platform-specific playbooks and grow followers into an engaged community Engage with comments, DMs, mentions, and conversations Enforce community guidelines, manage threads, and escalation issues to maintain a safe, positive community Monitor sentiment and surface community feedback, risks, and issues Define and protect a consumer brand voice distinct from Toast's B2B brand Partner with Brand, B2B Social, Comms, Product Marketing, and influencer teams Identify relevant cultural moments, behaviors, and trends Source and amplify user-generated content and build creator relationships Turn guest and operator stories into authentic, shareable content Share consumer interest data and trends to establish Toast Local as a thought leader Test, iterate, and scale content formats and community tactics Define, monitor, and report on follower growth, engagement quality, sentiment, share of voice, and referral traffic Share insights with Consumer Growth, Brand, and Product partners to inform strategy and product decisions Refine voice, formats, and channel mix using performance signals Requirements 3+ years of experience in community management, organic social, or social content roles—ideally for a consumer-facing (B2C) brand or app Human, non-corporate writing voice that earns engagement Ability to move naturally across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms Hands-on experience building and growing an organic social presence from the ground up Strong instincts for internet and hospitality culture Experience moderating online communities and managing engagement at scale Sound judgment regarding tone, escalation, and community safety Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping shape an evolving function Strong collaboration skills across brand, marketing, and product partners Data-informed prioritization and ability to translate community and performance signals into decisions Passion for consumer experience and helping local restaurants connect with guests Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in community management and organic social media strategy, with a focus on building and engaging consumer communities across platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
