Location: Amelia, Virginia, with travel between Amelia and Chesterfield locations
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Pay: $28.50–$31.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-time schedule with alternating weekends

About Art of Recovery and Life Skills
Art of Recovery and Life Skills, LLC provides behavioral health and substance use treatment services to individuals at multiple levels of care, including ASAM 2.1, 2.5, 3.1, and 3.5. We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the medical and medication-management needs of individuals receiving substance use treatment services. The ideal candidate will have prior behavioral health and/or substance use treatment experience and be comfortable working in a structured residential and outpatient treatment environment.

Position Summary
The RN/LPN will provide nursing support and medical care coordination for clients participating in Art of Recovery programs. This position plays an important role in ensuring medication safety, monitoring clients’ health needs, coordinating medical services, and supporting continuity of care. The nurse will work primarily at our Amelia location and must be available to travel between the Amelia and Chesterfield locations as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
·       Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, agency policies, and applicable nursing standards.
·       Oversee and support client self-administration of medications when applicable.
·       Maintain, monitor, and reconcile medication carts and medication records.
·       Monitor medication inventory and coordinate medication refills.
·       Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers regarding medications and client health needs.
·       Obtain and document client vital signs.
·       Conduct health screenings and nursing assessments.
·       Provide medication education to clients.
·       Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, changes in condition, and other health concerns.
·       Maintain accurate, timely, and complete nursing and medication documentation.
·       Provide medical care coordination for clients.
·       Coordinate and follow up on medical, dental, psychiatric, and other healthcare appointments.
·       Coordinate services and communicate with the agency’s physician and other medical providers.
·       Accompany clients to physician or other medical appointments when needed.
·       Assist with coordinating ongoing medical care and ensuring provider recommendations and medical orders are followed.
·       Review medical information received during intake and identify health-related concerns requiring follow-up.
·       Communicate relevant medical concerns to appropriate clinical and administrative staff.
·       Participate in interdisciplinary treatment and care coordination activities as appropriate.
·       Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable federal and Virginia requirements.
·       Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and client-safety procedures.
·       Respond appropriately to medical concerns, urgent health situations, and changes in client condition.
·       Perform other nursing-related duties consistent with the needs of the program and the nurse’s scope of practice.

Required Qualifications
·       Current, unrestricted Virginia RN or LPN license.
·       Previous experience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, addiction treatment, mental health, or a closely related setting is required.
·       Experience with medication administration and medication management.
·       Ability to perform nursing assessments, health screenings, and vital-sign monitoring.
·       Strong documentation and communication skills.
·       Ability to work effectively with clients who may have behavioral health, substance use, medical, and psychosocial needs.
·       Ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical, medical, and administrative staff.
·       Ability and willingness to travel between agency locations and to client medical appointments as required.
·       Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
·       Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain required certification.
·       Ability to successfully complete all required criminal background checks and fingerprinting.
·       Ability to complete required drug screening and TB screening.
·       Ability to meet all applicable employment and regulatory requirements for a Virginia behavioral health and substance use treatment provider.

Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position . The schedule will be based on program operations, client medical needs, medication-management responsibilities, and scheduled healthcare appointments. The position includes alternating weekends and requires flexibility to support clients’ medical needs and appointments across program locations.

Compensation and Benefits
·       $28.50–$31.50 per hour, based on licensure, experience, and qualifications.
·       Paid Time Off (PTO).
