Senior Litigation Attorney

Oakland, CA | Hybrid | Full-Time


A well-established litigation firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its Oakland team.


This opportunity is geared toward an attorney with 8-10 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to take on substantial responsibility, manage matters independently, and work directly with clients and other experienced litigators.


The practice handles complex civil litigation matters for a diverse group of business and individual clients. Attorneys have the opportunity to work on sophisticated cases while maintaining a collaborative and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
  
  
• Develop case strategy and work directly with clients
  
  
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and other legal documents
  
  
• Take and defend depositions
  
  
• Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration and trial
  
  
• Appear in state and federal court as needed
  
  
• Work closely with partners and other attorneys on complex matters
  
  
• Manage deadlines, case strategy and client communication
  
  

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of civil litigation experience
  
  
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
  
  
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
  
  
• Experience independently managing litigation matters
  
  
• Deposition experience required
  
  
• Strong communication and client-management skills
  
  
• Trial experience is a plus
  
  
• Experience in complex commercial or civil litigation is preferred
