QC Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector for one of our Contract Manufacturing clients in the Bay Area. This role performs inspections, verifies product conformance, supports root cause investigations, and helps maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities include:

• Inspecting products to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, customer specifications, and industry standards.
• Performing detailed and assembly-level inspections, including First Article Inspections (FAI) and supporting documentation.
• Utilizing precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Conducting incoming material inspections to verify supplier, customer, and industry requirements.
• Verifying proper installation and positioning of components, parts, and assemblies.
• Analyzing inspection data and accurately documenting findings and operational records.
• Supporting engineering teams with product and process root cause analysis.
• Maintaining compliance with ESD procedures and assisting others in following established practices.
• Participating in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and nonconformance processes.
• Recommending corrective actions and assisting in compiling inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Supporting production operations and performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of quality inspection experience in a PCBA and Mechanical EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current IPC certification required.
• Experience inspecting products to IPC standards and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of component verification, dimensional measurement, and receiving inspection processes.
• Proficiency using inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, torque drivers, and related equipment.
• Familiarity with quality engineering methods, Kaizen principles, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
