Investment Analyst

The Investment Analyst will support the primary responsibilities of research, underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio construction of Strategic Investments (SI) hedge fund strategy within the SI portfolio. The Investment Analyst will work closely with investment professionals to evaluate hedge fund strategies using statistical, econometric, and quantitative techniques, and will help develop analytical tools and models to support investment decision-making. The Investment Analyst will have a strong foundation in statistics, econometrics, data analysis, and programming, with advanced knowledge in financial markets, alternative investments, and hedge funds. This role requires onsite, in-office work and relocation to Tallahassee, FL. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience. Preferences: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, mathematics, business, computer science, management information science, data science, engineering or a related field Master of Business Administration or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, mathematics, computer science, management information systems, data science, engineering, or a related field Academic background in statistics, probability, econometrics, and quantitative methods. Programming experience with economic/financial/investment datasets Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated interest in financial markets, hedge funds, and alternative investments. Programming experience in Python (pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn, matplotlib, etc.), experience using AI tools for programming, reporting, and analysis Coursework or experience in machine learning, time-series forecasting, portfolio analytics, or financial modeling. Familiarity with factor models, risk premia, hedge fund strategies, and portfolio construction. Experience using SQL, Git, cloud computing environments, or data visualization platforms. Enrollment in or completion of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) credentials Experience in a pension fund, foundation, endowment, family office, fund of fund, or sovereign wealth funds Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to understand how investment strategies generate returns Ability to translate complex quantitative findings into actionable investment insights Strong attention to detail and commitment to analytical rigor Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across investment, risk, and operational teams Knowledge of investments and ability to identify attractive investment opportunities Knowledge of financial concepts and theories Strong written and oral communication skills Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new software and automated systems Knowledge of financial concepts and theories, and strong background in their application Knowledge of statistics and mathematics Ability to determine quality and applicability of relevant data in an investment context Ability to conduct research, compile data, write reports and present results Ability to perform at a high level in a team environment Ability to work with minimal supervision An intellectual curiosity of financial markets and the global economy #J-18808-Ljbffr
